Sumner Health Centre is proud of our staff who work hard to make sure you get only the very best of care.

Practice Manager: Jeanette Costley

Jeanette is our Practice Manager and is responsible for the smooth running of the practice. She has worked in reception and administration of GP surgeries for 17 years and there have been many times when we have been grateful for her experience! She and her husband have five sons, three daughters-in-law and three grandchildren.

When not at work, Jeanette will be tackling the weeds in her garden, baking, watching 'The Boys' play basketball or just enjoying the grandchildren.

Dr. Robert Seddon-Smith MB ChB FRNZCGP

Rob trained as a GP in England after gaining many years of hospital experience, including work in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Psychiatry, Accident and Emergency, Orthopaedics, ENT and Cardio-thoracic surgery. Before joining the team at Sumner Health Centre, he worked at the 24 Hour Surgery on Bealey Avenue for over two years, gaining additional experience in accident and medical practice. Rob has a very broad range of medical interests, but particularly enjoys mental health, gynaecology, orthopaedics, injuries and minor surgery. In addition to his work at Sumner Health Centre, Rob also works in the fracture clinic at the 24 Hour Surgery on Bealey avenue At home, Rob is the proud father of five children and, when he is not transporting them to events, can often be found in his shed, making wooden toys and furniture or programming his computer.

Dr. Vanessa Stedman MB BS MRCP

Vanessa has been working at Sumner Health Centre for over 6 years. She has three children and is particularly interested in the more complex problems which are present in General Practice.

Dr. Allesandra Caramello MB ChB MRCGP

Alex trained in General Practice in the UK but has many years of hospital experience both in New Zealand and overseas. Her particular interests are children and emergency medicine.
